I’m now in an enforced retirement brought about as an outcome of suffering a significant stroke.
I have to admit l’ve had my struggles adjusting to retirement life. It has removed my reason to get up everyday: intellectual challenge, human connection, financial reward, a sense of purpose and recognition in the world.
But after 5 years in a bit of a wilderness l’ve now started to find find my feet with new personal purpose, empowerment and fulfilment in my own interests and pursuits. There is a new world to discover when unleashed from the need for a job and the necessity for economic reward.
